Why do you want to be the Lord of this province?
-I think I am well suited for the role and it allows some interesting lore to be written with the history of the Quiche Empire and Proto-Watolian culture.
What is the background and/or history of your province? (Linking to Google Docs is acceptable, the more detail and relation to existing lore the better!)
-Qualezutol started, as most provinces did, completely void of people. That changed as explorers, colonists, and outcasts made their home on the two islands. It started very peacefully, new towns, more people, prosperity, for a few hundred years until it happened. The brigands arrive. The dreaded Clefthands made their base on the smaller island. Life turned into hell for the villagers instantly. The brigands easily took over and started a reign of terror. The other provinces would just laugh at the incompetence of the now native Qualezutolean people. Mass migration ensued as the Clefthands killed more. The Clefthands removed 90% of the population in some form or another. There was no way to stop them. The brigands reigned supreme for some 60 odd years. Suddenly, the Clefthands got bored and left. Everything was looted, the was no one to kill as the natives had made themselves scarce. The Qualezutolean people rejoiced at what they saw as divine help. They vowed to never again be helpless and started isolating to avoid further trouble. Fast forward until a famine breaks out in some other provinces and forces their people to look for food elsewhere. That is when the outsiders discovered the self-sufficient islands with a diverse culture. The Qualezutolean natives, remembering their treatment by the brigands, had pity on the outsiders and gave them food. Sadly, tragedy was never far off from Qualezutol. Their beloved leader was murdered by an outsider with a hole in the middle of his hand. This was the symbol of a Clefthand. The natives immediately rose up against the attacker and learned that the brigands were coming back. The brigands thought that the Qualezutolean natives had once again become ripe for the pickings in the years of isolation. The Clefthands did not realize that the Qualezutolean natives were ready. The brigands had no chance. Every single one of them was killed in a bloody war that lasted for 3 months. The Qualezutolean natives were finally free to do what they pleased without threat. Their traders and adventurers left to explore the world.
